University of Nagasaki Exchange
This program is a unique opportunity to immerse completely in Japanese culture and take your Japanese studies to the next level! In this exchange program, you will enroll at the University of Nagasaki and take a semester of tuition-free, transferable Edmonds College credits during Fall and Winter quarters. As a representative of Edmonds College, you qualify for university-subsidized housing and have the opportunity to attend special events for international students.
This program is unique because only a few students participate, and the duration is longer than a traditional study abroad program. The purpose is to internationalize both campuses, and we design pre-departure meetings for accepted Edmonds College students. You will be immersed in Japanese culture and university life, much more than a traditional study abroad program.
You will be immersed in Japanese life for 14 weeks. You will eat, commute, and study with your Japanese peers. During this time, you will also have the chance to meet students and other people from countries worldwide. As an old trading port, Nagasaki enjoys a mix of architectural styles, cuisines, and traditions. This program is a unique opportunity to immerse completely in the Japanese language and culture and take your Japanese studies to the next level.

It is important that before planning your trip to Japan, consider all the medications you need to take with you, in case you have any medical condition or need to take a certain medication.
For this, it is necessary that you go to a trusted doctor so they can give you a certificate that you certainly need these medicines, so Japanese customs do not confiscate your medications, and if you need to get more of these and are not available in Japan, you can import them.
