The Edmonds College Foundation has hired Chris Marx as its new executive director. The Foundation, established in 1982, provides scholarships for students, support for the college, its faculty, staff, and facilities, and advocacy for the college and its mission.
“In this economic climate, more people are returning to school,” said Marx. “It’s important that we are here to help our neighbors in need and support their dreams. Everyone should have quality opportunities close to home to train for jobs and help our state’s economy recover.”
Marx was most recently the Executive Director of Rosehedge, an assisted living facility for men and women living with AIDS in Seattle, and she has worked as the Associate Director of Development and the Alumni Relations Manager for the University of Washington.
She earned her Masters in Public Administration in 2008, her bachelor’s degree in English in 1995, and a certificate in nonprofit management, all from the University of Washington.
Marx is an Edmonds native, and was a member of the first graduating class of Edmonds-Woodway High School.
