CyberSecurity Forensic Analyst (CSFA) seal

The CyberSecurity Forensic Analyst (CSFA) certification offered through Edmonds College for digital forensics students is recognized by the (ISC) — the organization that developed and sponsors the CISSP certification. The CSFA is on the (ISC) approved list for a one year experience waiver towards the CISSP, Certified Information Systems Security Professional.

When Information Security Media Group conducted its first annual Information Security Today Career Trends survey, the CyberSecurity Forensic Analyst (CSFA) certification was among the top 10 security certifications for 2010. The CSFA, developed by instructor Steve Hailey's CyberSecurity Institute, is offered at Edmonds College free of charge for students that have completed CIS 293/Digital Forensics III. In April, 11 students who had just completed Digital Forensics III sat for the test.

Edmonds College information security instructor Steve Hailey is the president of CyberSecurity Institute. He also teaches for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Cyberterrorism Defense Initiative.
