Support the college foundation Sept. 17 at 20th Annual Golf Classic

The Edmonds College Foundation holds its 20th Annual Golf Classic at noon Friday, Sept. 17, at Everett Golf and Country Club, 1500 52nd Street SE, Everett.
The golf classic is the Foundation’s second largest fundraiser, after its annual auction, in support of its mission: to support access, success, and excellence for students, faculty, and staff at Edmonds College. To date, the Foundation has awarded 125 scholarships, totaling $129,000, for the 2010-11 academic year as well as 17 grants, totaling $30,000, in support of college programs.
Last year the Golf Classic raised $35,000 for the college. The presenting sponsor of the event is Comprehensive Wealth Management, a financial services firm, in Lynnwood.
“Education gives people the opportunity to make the most of themselves. By supporting an organization like the Edmonds College we have a chance to make a difference in individual lives and through those lives, benefit the community and economy as a whole,” said Shilo M. Lockett, Chief Operating Officer of Comprehensive Wealth Management.
The cost of the golf classic with banquet included is $175 per golfer or $1,000 for a VIP foursome. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
