Edmonds College students can get a free copy of the college's 2010 literary/arts journal, Between the Lines, in the Office of Student Life. Community members can buy the book for $15. Between the Lines publishes quality short fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, and visual artwork from writers and artists at the college and in the local community. More than 50 writers and artists are featured in the 2010 edition. Enroll in the winter Publications class to get experience in the design, editing, and production of a literary/arts journal.

The Between the Lines 2010 edition was created by students enrolled in Edmonds College’s Winter 2009 Publications class, including coordinating art editor and layout designer Peggy Coburn, coordinating literary editor Tyler Huggins, and coordinating design editor and graphic artist Ton Sridi.

To participate in creating the 2011 edition, enroll in Publications, Humanities 235, at Edmonds College this winter. The class meets 9:30-11:20 a.m., Tuesday and Thursday as well as online (it’s a hybrid class). Cost: $466.55, plus admission and fees. Instructor Amanda Laughtland is a published poet with experience in editing and publishing small press books and magazines. To find out more about the class, email her at amanda.laughtland@edmonds.edu.
