Develop animal tracking skills, earn an AmeriCorps scholarship, explore environmental careers, and make a difference in the community. During winter quarter students enrolled in Anthropology 201-203, Human Ecology I-III will participate in a number of field projects.
Transportation, snow shoes (courtesy of REI) and instruction in wildlife tracking are provided as part of the class. Scholarships of $1,132-$2,675 through AmeriCorps are available to eligible students.

The field projects are:
- Cascade Citizens Wildlife Monitoring Project along I-90. Document the presence and movements of wildlife east of Snoqualmie Pass to help land managers and the state with the installation and monitoring of wildlife passages incorporated into the new construction that is underway.
- Snohomish County Wildlife Passage Project. Help Snohomish County Public Works monitor wildlife near and through newly constructed or proposed wildlife passages across county roads.
- Fisher Reintroduction Project on Olympic Peninsula. Work with Olympic National Forest and Conservation Northwest to monitor the success of the reintroduction of fishers (a member of the weasel family) to Olympic National Park.
