Former college president James Warren dies; founding role honored

Edmonds College sends sympathy and appreciation to the family and friends of James Warren who served as its president throughout the 70s and who died Thurs., Sept. 13, 2012.
The college officially came into being on July 1, 1967. It shared a district with Everett Community College until July 1, 1981, when the legislature approved its new District 23.
Warren was president when the college’s first permanent building, Mountlake Terrace Hall, opened on campus in 1970. During his tenure, the college added seven buildings for classrooms and grew to serve 3,000 students.
