OLYMPIA, Wash. – Twenty-eight Washington community and technical colleges are among the top military friendly schools in the nation according to G.I. Jobs magazine. The 2013 Military Friendly Schools list released this week honors the top 15 percent of colleges, universities, and trade schools that do the most to ensure the success of military service members, veterans, and spouses.
G.I. Jobs magazine compiled the list through research and data-driven analysis of surveys from more than 12,000 schools nationwide, along with a survey of more than 3,000 student veterans. The results were independently audited by national accounting giant Ernst & Young. Washington’s community and technical colleges were among only 1,739 schools nationwide to make the list.
Washington community colleges on the Military Friendly Schools list are: Bellevue, Big Bend, Cascadia, Centralia, Clark, Clover Park, Columbia Basin, Edmonds, Everett, Grays Harbor, Green River, Lower Columbia, North Seattle, Olympic, Peninsula, Pierce, Shoreline, Skagit Valley, South Puget Sound, South Seattle, Spokane, Spokane Falls, Tacoma, Wenatchee Valley and Whatcom. Also on the list are Bates and Bellingham technical colleges, and the Lake Washington Institute of Technology.
