10/29/2013
Marcel W. Helland, an Edmonds College music student, will be featured in a student spotlight recital 7:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 4. at the Black Box Theatre on campus, 20000 68th Ave. W.
Part of the Edmonds CC Concert Series, the recital is open to the public. The suggested
donation of $7 benefits the college’s music scholarship programs.
Helland will be playing nine different saxophones, including the contrabass, of which
there are only 40 in the world, and the soprillo saxophone, the world’s smallest playable
saxophone.
The concert, with piano accompaniment by Tom Prince, will feature a wide range of
musical styles, from Bach to Schulze.
