Edmonds CC hires Vice President for Student Services

Edmonds College has hired Christina Castorena as its Vice President for Student Services. She will oversee the enrollment services and financial aid offices, as well as a number of student programs including housing, athletics, and student activities and government.
“Christina has the background and the commitment to student success to excel in this
leadership role,” said Jean Hernandez, Edmonds CC President. “She also has demonstrated
a strong ability to work collaboratively across campus and with community partners
to advance our student-centered mission.”
Castorena is a veteran college administrator with more than two decades of experience
in multiple areas within student affairs, including 15 years in a community college
setting. She was previously the Dean of Student Development and Diversity Advocacy
at Everett Community College, where she has worked since 1998.
Prior to that, she spent eight years in the financial aid office at Western Washington
University and worked as a financial aid counselor at Colorado State University for
two years.
“I am committed to using my education, professional training, and my personal life
experiences to support and lead institutional changes that result in equitable and
quality programs and services to help all students achieve their personal, academic,
and career goals,” said Castorena, a first generation college graduate.
Castorena earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Colorado State University
and a master's degree in Education from Western Washington University.
