Edmonds CC Music department presents “Feminine Fanfare: Women Playing Music by Women” May 4

The Edmonds College Music department presents “Feminine Fanfare: Women Playing Music by Women,” a recital concert, 2 p.m., Sun., May 4 in the college’s Black Box Theatre in Mukilteo Hall on campus, 20000 68th Ave. W. This event is open to the public.
This recital features a wide variety of music by female composers and performed by Edmonds CC female employees including music instructor Debra DeMiero (piano) and Joan Penney (voice), the college's former Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Highlights include songs by Clara Schumann and Fanny Mendlessohn, piano duets by Amy Beach, and pieces featuring French horn, flute, and marimba. Poet Monda Van Hollebeke will also read several of her poems during the program.
Female art students will display their work in the theatre's lobby.
Admission to "Feminine Fanfare" is a $7 suggested donation for the public, free for Edmonds CC students. All proceeds benefit music scholarships.
