Edmonds College is partnering with the Latino Education Training Institute (LETI) to host the Latino EXPO in celebration of the Americas. The event — free and open to the public — is Aug. 9 from noon-5 p.m. in the parking lot near Snohomish Hall, 20000 68th Ave. W, Lynnwood.

The event will feature live performances, free giveaways, raffles, arts and crafts, free health check ups, Latin American cuisine, local vendors, and fun activities for the whole family.

"This is an exciting bicultural event," said Rosario Reyes, founder and executive director of LETI. "It is an opportunity for the community to network with local businesses and take advantage of many resources, such as free health screenings, as well as enjoy Latin American cuisine, music, dance contests, and much more."

LETI — an organization dedicated to facilitating the success of Spanish-speaking and bilingual people in Washington state — develops programs in leadership, high school completion, personal financial literacy, and civic participation.

In addition to the college's partnership on the Latino EXPO, Edmonds CC has also worked with LETI on several academic programs such as the GED, English as a Second Language, and PACE-IT.
