Edmonds CC to hold public hearing on conduct codes and nondiscrimination and harassment policy on April 10

04/06/15

Edmonds College will hold a public hearing regarding a proposed rule replacement for the student code of conduct hearing procedures and nondiscrimination and harassment policy, on April 10, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., in the Clearview Building, room 121 on the Edmonds CC campus, 7030 196th St. SW, Lynnwood.

Public comments are invited on the proposed repeal and replacement of chapter 132Y-125 and 132Y-300 of the Edmonds CC Washington Administrative Code (WAC). The proposed replacements reflect the amendments to the Violence Against Women Act and Title IX, which requires all colleges and universities within the U.S. to update their conduct codes and nondiscrimination and harassment policy.

An overview of the proposed revisions will be provided by the hearing officer prior to taking comments. Following the hearing, the hearing officer will summarize public comments. Pending action by the college’s Board of Trustees on May 19, the new rule will become effective no earlier than July 1.

Please send comments to the college’s Office of the Vice President for Student Services at kendra.wanzenried@edmonds.edu.
