New Swift College Station bus stop opens near campus

Students who commute to Edmonds Community College on Community Transit Swift buses now have a shorter walk to campus.
Community Transit opened the Swift College Station bus stop on Feb. 3 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Edmonds CC President Jean Hernandez, Community Transit CEO Emmett Heath, and Lynnwood Mayor Nicola Smith were all in attendance for the station’s grand opening.
College Station is located on southbound Highway 99 at 204th St. SW in Lynnwood.
“We are constantly seeking ways to expand and improve our transit network,” said Heath. “This new Swift College Station will have an immediate benefit for college students and staff, as well as all 5,500 people who ride Swift every day.”
“We’re excited to expand our partnership with Community Transit,” said Hernandez. “We’re hopeful that the new Swift bus stop will allow our students, employees, and the community quicker and safer access to campus.”
According to Community Transit, about 1,500 people board buses each weekday at or near Edmonds Community College. Routes 115, 116 and 120 serve the campus directly and account for about 900 boardings each weekday.
About 600 people each weekday board the bus at the other two closest Swift stations near the college — southbound Highway 99 at 196th St. SW and northbound Highway 99 at 200th St. SW.
Edmonds CC students who commute on transit can get an ORCA EdPass for only $15 per quarter. This gives students access to explore the greater community at an affordable price. Information on how to get to Edmonds CC by bus is online at communitytransit.org.
