Career and College Success Courses

For students majoring in Arts and Communication or Social Sciences and Cultural Studies. Examples include English, Art, Music, Psychology, Sociology, History, and Political Science, as well as Business Transfer

Like all CCS courses listed below, this general course emphasizes self-assessment, goal-setting, effective study habits, campus and community resources, and educational planning.

For students majoring in Mathematics or Natural Sciences, including Chemistry, Physics, Biology, as well as Pre-Health (Nursing, Medicine, etc.) students who plan to transfer to a four-year college

This course also provides students with a broad introduction to the scientific method and various Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) careers and STEM disciplines.

For students majoring in Engineering

This course is also designed to give students an overview of engineering and technology careers, various engineering disciplines, and engineering transfer schools.

For students majoring in Social and Human Services, including Addiction Studies and Family Support Studies, or in Early Childhood Education

This course also includes exploration of career development and opportunities within human services, including addiction studies and family support studies.

For students pursuing careers in the Healthcare Services field, including Pharmacy, Phlebotomy, or Patient Care Technician; Clinical Lab Assistant; Nursing Assistant; and Licensed Practical Nurse

This course is designed to enhance student success and transition or return to college within the Healthcare services field.

For students seeking degrees and certificates offered through the Business Division, or in Early Childhood Education

For students majoring in Visual Communications

This course is designed to give students an overview of visual communications careers and various disciplines with visual communications.
