Tests Offered Through Testing and Assessment
In addition to proctoring make-up tests for students, Testing and Assessment Services is responsible for proctoring placement tests for the college. The following tests are available through our office:
English and Math Placement Tests
All new students at Edmonds must complete an English and Math placement test to be placed in the appropriate classes.

LOEP Placement Test for English as a Second Language (ESL) Students
The Edmonds College LOEP (ACCUPLACER ESL) test is used to determine proper class placement for our students who have learned English as a second language.

Students interested in taking Chemistry 161 must pass the placement test for this course before you can register.

Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)
The Test of Esssential Academic Skills (TEAS) is required for admission into the Practical Nursing (LPN) program. It’s a 170 question multiple-choice assessment of basic academic knowledge in reading, mathematics, science, and English language usage. The objectives assessed on the TEAS exam are those which nurse educators deemed most appropriate and relevant to measure entry level skills and abilities of nursing program applicants.
