1. Fill out your Vaccine Attestation in ctcLink.

You must complete the attestation form in the student ctcLink portal OR switch to online course(s). If the attestation is not completed, on-campus classes will be removed from your current schedule. If you are seeking a religious or medical exemption, you must declare the exemption in ctcLink and follow safety protocols at all times.

2. If you are coming to campus, please be sure you know the COVID-19 policies in place.

On February 16, Edmonds College launched ctcLink, a new self-service portal and mobile app that will provide students, faculty, and staff with an improved user experience to access college services! Edmonds College is one of 34 technical and community colleges across Washington state implementing the ctcLink system to give the campus community access to a modern, efficient way of conducting their college business.

Here is an example of how students will use ctcLink: 

• Register for classes
• View and update student information 
• Manage personal contact information
• Pay tuition and fees 
• View grades and track academic goals 
• Apply for graduation
• Contact instructors or advisor
• And so much more!

Since early Fall quarter, Edmonds College staff have been taking intensive training to learn this new system. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we adapt to ctcLink. Edmonds College is constantly innovating and this new system will streamline a lot of procedures for the campus!

• Filling out a Student Status Report
  • Current international students fill out a Student Status Report form to communicate with OIP office about:
    • Concurrent Enrollment (Taking a class at another school)
    • Going Home for One or More Quarters
    • Graduation
    • Vacation
• Going Home/Returning to Campus
  • If you need an I-20 signature, make an online appointment.
  • If you are going home for the summer, submit a Student Status Report as soon as possible.
  • If you are returning after an absence, submit a Returning Student Application as soon as possible.

• Class Registration | Academic Plan
  • Students may be able to take a vacation quarter during Summer. If you have questions about vacation quarter eligibilty, please contact an advisor.
  • If you are in the area and are registered for the Summer quarter, full time enrollment (12 credits) is based on your student situation. Please contact an advisor if you have any questions.
  • If you are planning to take a quarter in your home country, you may take classes online. You may study part time or full time.

Edmonds College use Canvas for online learning (see next question for more on Canvas).

To use Canvas, you will need:

• A phone, tablet, or computer
• A reliable internet connection
• A web browser: Firefox and Chrome work best

The following technology are also suggested for online learning at Edmonds College:

• PC Windows 7 or higher
• Mac OS 10.4 or higher
• A Chrome book will work though some applications do not run well 
• A printer
• A head set
• Speakers
• A web camera (if your computer does not have one built in)

Canvas supports the current and first previous major releases of the following browsers:

• Chrome 83 and 84
• Firefox 78 and 79 (Extended Releases are not supported*)
• Edge 83 and 84
• Respondus Lockdown Browser (supporting the latest system requirements)
• Safari 12 and 13 (Macintosh only)
• You should always use the most current version of your preferred browser. Your browser will notify you if there is a new version available.

Edmonds College uses Canvas for online learning and teaching. It allows professors to post grades, information, and assignments online. It is used by universities and colleges all over the world.

Canvas has a lot of features and tools that will make your online class interactive and engaging, but it can seem overwhelming at first. Here’s a quick explanation of some of the most commonly used parts of Canvas:

• Announcements are a tool that your instructor can use to send out messages to the entire class.
• Inbox is a tool that lets you and your instructors message each other. Copies of inbox messages are sent to the email address set in your Canvas profile.
• Modules are a way that your instructor may organize your online class. Think of modules as folders that contain readings, media, and assignments you may have to do each week, chapter, or unit.
• Assignments are just like assignments in a face-to-face class, except submitted online. You upload your work, your instructor gives you feedback, and you receive a grade.
• Discussion boards are a way for you to interact and share ideas with your classmates and instructor online. Your instructor will post a topic and give you instructions, then you’ll share your ideas in a discussion board post. It’s just like a written conversation.
• Grades is where you’ll find scores on assignments you’ve submitted in Canvas. It’s important to keep track of your progress so you can succeed in your online class.

Plagiarism is:

• Using someone else's words or ideas without properly citing the source
• Reusing your own words or ideas from another paper (without citing yourself)
• Turning in a paper you did not write, even if you paid for it
• Using an image, chart, graph or photograph without properly citing the source
• Doing any of the above, intentionally or unintentionally, is still plagiarism

New student EdPass ID cards can be created a week prior to the start of the new quarter. EdPass/ORCA cards can only be made two business days after registering for the classes and the bus pass class and paying your registration fees and tuition.
