Dr. Leslie L. Rossman (They/Them) is Chair and Full Time Faculty in the Communication Studies Department at Edmonds College. Dr. Rossman received their Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Communication Ethics at the University of Denver and earned an M.A. in Political Studies at the University of Illinois, Springfield. Their research interests include rhetoric and political economy, rhetorical mediations of labor and globalization, precarity in academic labor, in addition to intersectional feminism in woman’s professional soccer, queer representations in sapphic novels, and gender and sexuality in media more broadly. At Edmonds College, Dr. Rossman teaches Introduction to Communication, Introduction to Media Studies, Interpersonal Communication, and Public Speaking.
Dr. Rossman’s interests outside of academia include traveling to places where the Harry Potter movies were filmed, spending time with friends and family in Chicago, watching the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team, attending the Chicago Red Stars and Cubs games, and watching the Great British Baking Show. They have a feeling that going to OL Reign games and becoming a coffee aficionado will soon find a place within the bio.
