CoMMunity Murals
As part of Edmonds College’s mission to foster Teaching, Learning, and Community, students in Audineh Asaf’s Art 111 (Two-Dimensional Design) course are creating a site-specific mural for the campus Food Pantry. This project provides students with real-world experience in public art, allowing them to apply their skills while creating a welcoming, inclusive environment that reflects the college’s commitment to diversity, respect, and community engagement.
This mural is the first of a series of collaborative projects, with future quarters extending similar opportunities to other departments on campus. Each project will bring students, faculty, and staff together to transform spaces that support and uplift the Edmonds College community.
The mural created by Moriah Derr, Jalen Kirk, Charles Teguh, and Drew Ledford-White will now proudly hang in the campus Food Pantry.
"Creating this mural for the Food Pantry was so meaningful for me! Our group all shared a similar vision for this project, and we focused our piece on community and diversity. A lot of thought went into every element placed on the canvas. I'm so proud to share this final product with the campus!" -Moriah Derr
