Jessica Beck

Jessica Beck is a practicing artist, teacher, and curator. Her award-winning work has been shown nationally and internationally. Beck is primarily an oil painter but uses other 2-dimensional media such as graphite, silverpoint, and watercolor. She has an MFA from the New York Academy of Art and a BFA in Painting and Art History from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Beck’s work addresses the contemporary western mindset towards femininity and explores how antiquated belief structures shape it. Her current body of work appropriates female archetypes from art history, and shows them under attack.
