Admission to the program requires 25 credits of proficiency as prerequisites. Students may take up to 35 credits as part of the program to reach the 60 total credits required for this section.
This requirement is typically satisfied by completing the core courses of an Associate in Applied Science - Transfer (AAS-T), or equivalent degree, in one of the following:
If you have credits from a college other than Edmonds College, please contact the CYFS Program Manager for a preliminary transcript review to determine which of your courses may transfer as proficiency to our program.
Admission to the program requires the completion of ENGL& 101 - English Composition
and 15 credits of additional general education courses. Students may take up to 40
credits as part of the program to reach the 60 total credits required for this section.

Upper division coursework focuses on child, youth, and family studies. This requirement will be completed in two years (6 quarters) during the CYFS-BAS program. Each course is 5 credits and held during either fall, winter, or spring quarters.
Students may also schedule general education or proficiency credits during quarters they are enrolled in CYFS courses. Many students do this but it is not required. Summer quarters may also be used for this purpose, as needed.
