Family Support Studies -Associate of Applied Science Transfer Degree

Description

 Family Support Studies coursework provides training and instruction in best practices in family support to students currently working or planning to work with people using a strengths-based approach within a framework of prevention. The approach nurtures healthy development of families through the processes of accentuating family strengths, connection to positive community resources and nurturing self-efficacy and agency for family members. Students develop skills in communications, education of parents, and working with systems to support family growth and development. The degree can also transfer to colleges having specific bachelor's degree programs that accept the AAS-T degree. This degree requires successful completion of a minimum of 90 credits as outlined.

Modality

This program map is designed to allow you to complete your program fully online with some courses requiring Online Synchronous meetings.

Order of Courses

The courses are ordered in a suggested course sequence. Many courses can be taken at different times; however, some may require completion or concurrent enrollment in prerequisite courses. Please refer to your custom plan and speak to your advisor to discuss rearranging the order of your courses.

Time to Complete

The Family Support Studies AAST requires the completion of 90 college-level credits. Full-time students typically take 15 credits per quarter and may complete the certificate in six quarters; Part-time students, students who need to complete pre-college level courses, prerequisites, or students who take time off may take longer to satisfy all certificate requirements.
