Paralegal - Associate of Applied Science Transfer Degree

Our American Bar Association (ABA)-approved  Paralegal Associate in Applied Science-Transfer (AAS-T) Degree program meets the highest educational standards and consistency that is preferred by many legal employers nationwide. The ABA defines a paralegal as a person qualified by education, training, or work experience, employed or retained by an attorney, law office, corporation, governmental agency, or other entity, and who performs specifically delegated substantive legal work for which an attorney is responsible. Paralegals may not provide legal services directly to the public except as permitted by law.

The Paralegal Associate of Applied Science-Transfer Degree is a job-training degree designed for you if you also intend to obtain a four-year baccalaureate degree (BA). This degree prepares you for immediate employment as a paralegal. It also allows you to begin working on your BA at Edmonds College and then transfer to a four-year college or university as a junior. This degree will transfer to colleges and universities with specific baccalaureate or applied baccalaureate programs or with an articulation agreement with Edmonds College. Graduates from this program will receive an ABA-approved professional degree recognizing their achievement in specialized paralegal training. If you intend to transfer, you should work with an advisor at Edmonds College and the four-year college or university you plan to attend.
