Honors at Edmonds College

Quarterly Honors Letter

Students completing ten (10) or more credits in decimal-graded (e.g., 3.5, 3.7, 4.0) with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher will receive a letter of recognition from the Vice President of Instruction. S/U grades do not count toward this award. Please ensure your current mailing address is up to date with Enrollment Services.

Commencement Honors

If the student has earned a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher in courses completed through winter quarter at Edmonds College, the student is eligible to graduate with honors and wear an honor cord at commencement. See the Edmonds College Commencement site for more information.

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society for Two-Year Colleges, recognizes sustained academic excellence and provides leadership and scholarship opportunities for its members. Membership is by invitation only, and invitations are sent quarterly to your preferred email address.

Phi Theta Kappa members are eligible to wear PTK regalia during Commencement ceremonies (an honors tassel and stole) and participate in an annual induction ceremony.

Eligible students are those completing two-year degrees (AA, AS, ATA) or working towards a BAS (Bachelors of Sciences) degree, have completed at least 16 college-level credits (courses numbered 100 or above that apply towards an Associate or BAS degree, and who have sustained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Academic Honors

If you have earned a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.8 in all college-level courses (numbered 100 or above), upon graduation, the achievement will be noted on your college transcript upon graduation.
