Scholarships

Scholarships are another way for students to receive funding. Three parties are involved with scholarships.

1. The Donor: The sponsor who is offering the scholarship award.
2. The Student: If approved, the student will receive a scholarship offer to assist with the student's academic success.
3. The School: Most donors send the funds to the school, who then is in charge of disbursing the funds to the students.

Each scholarship has eligibility requirements and methods of selecting applicants.  Let the scholarship donor determine if you are an eligible candidate. Send as many applications to as many donors as possible!

Most scholarship donors will send the scholarship funds directly to the college, where we disperse those funds to you!

Some scholarships have rules regarding how students receive the funds. In these cases, our office tries to honor the donor's request.

Example 1: The scholarship can only go towards tuition and fees.
Example 2: The scholarship must not go towards tuition and fees - the scholarship must go directly to the student and let the student decide the best way to use these funds.

If there is flexibility in the scholarship, students can submit a scholarship disbursement request, where our office will try and honor the student's request.
